The Culture of the Street

As read before on this blog my readers know what Bape and Baby Milo are, but I will give another brief recap. Baby Milo is basically a design style of Bape where they put their money character "Baby Milo" in their clothing designs. Now something that my readers have not heard before, but some probably now, is the name BearBrick. BearBrick is an art/toy brand that does many collaborations with many different brands, shows, movies, etc. They are also from Japan so that is why Bape and BearBrick get a long so well and have done so many different collaborations. In this collaboration Bape is releasing a clothing release that has Baby Milo and the outline of BearBrick toys on shirts. This release also has a little Christmas spirit thrown into some of the designs. This release comes with camp-full zip hoodies, t-shirts, BearBrick figures, keychains, clocks, and a pillow. A shoe that has gotten a lot of hype and attention over the course of this year would be the Nike Air Max 97's. This shoe is selling out in almost every store for some of its more popular colors schemes. This shoe did a collaboration with streetwear company Undefeated and the style was loved by collectors everywhere. The design was a a mostly black shoe with some red, green, and white thrown in. The presence of the green, red, and white makes the wearer think of the very famous brand Gucci that uses these same type of colors on their clothing. Though these were not the only spin off of the 97's that has made this shoe so popular over the last few months. One of the best designs that actually really got me personally into street fashion is the OG Dime Dinosaur Tee. I didn't always used to like street wear, but when I saw the Dime dinosaur Tee for the first time I really saw that street fashion is special. Dime is traditional known for being a skate apparel line based out of Canada. They sponsor some very good skaters that are apart of their crew in Canada. Though they are also famous for their wanted apparel around the skate community. The Dinosaur T-shirt that I am talking about is one of the most raw and simple designs out their, but for some reason it really just works great. There are three different options of the shirt, each a different color and each a different dinosaur on the chest. The first, is a white shirt with a purple dinosaur with a basketball on the chest. The second is a baby blue shirt with a winged dinosaur flying with a broom on the chest. The last option is a grey shirt with a green dinosaur using a banan...

One of the most sought after shoes in the world, the Air Jordan 6, is now set to release in a new Gatorade collaboration. Ever since I can remember Air Jordan was always a shoe brand that people idolized and needed to have it. Personally, I didn't really see all the hype around them. I guess I just wasn't really a fan of them as a kid and even now. Though many people are and that is why when a new Jordan collaboration or color way comes out the streetwear community freaks out. In this case the streetwear community has been waiting quite sometime for this Gatorade Air Jordan 6 to finally be released. They showed the shoe to the public in September and now after working out all the kinks are opening it up for sale December 28th. Ronnie Fieg is off to another radical and brilliant Kith collaboration, this time with all-time cartoon SpongeBob Squarepants. Fieg has kept quiet about this collaboration up until early this week when he posted a teaser on his Instagram. The one exception about this collaboration is that it is not in adult sizes. Fieg has made it for his new kids line that he has recently started. Even though it has been made for kids the designs and items for this collaboration are unreal. This Kidset has hoodies, hats, t-shirts, beanies, long-sleeve shirt, and jacket. KITH x SpongeBob Squarepants Box Logo T-Shirt White  It looks like from the look book that Fieg released to the public that their is a design with the Kith logo with a SpongeBob character's face in the background. This same design is on a t-shirt, hoodie, and beanie, almost like a set of three. Then there are long-sleeve t-shirts with the box-logo of Kith, but it has the lettering and outline of the SpongeBob show. Then lastl...

A Bathing Ape has recently opened up another one of their innovative stores in Paris, France. Along with the new store, the brand is releasing a new Paris Collection of clothing items for sale. All of the items have the color scheme of the French flag along with a graphical twist of Bape designs. I really like this collection because of the French color scheme that is used on every item. The shades work well together and are full with color. In this collection there are full-zip hoodies, crewnecks, t-shirts, joggers, a hat, a bag, and bracelets to chose from. Though the best items from this collections have to be the Camo-Ape Tee and the Baby Milo Flag Tee. Camo-Ape Tee White The Camo-Ape Tee is by far my favorite item that is coming from this collection. A streetwear line from Tokyo, Japan has made a splash in the fashion world with this new collabe t-shirt that they have just released. This collaboration is with the famous movies Star Wars and they have release a long-sleeve shirt just in time for the release date of the new Star Wars movie coming out December 15th. They have created a two long sleeve shirts, one black and one white, with the same design on them. On the front of the shirt is says Star Wars in teal colored font and then a graphic of Jabba the Hutt below and overlapping the bottom of the writing. Then are is writing on both arms of the long-sleeve shirt in teal colored front. Atoms LAB Star Wars Jabba the Hutt Tee (White) I like this design and would definitely be an item I would pick up. The fabric of the clothing looks comfortable and durable, while the design is very simple and specific. Streetwear line Bape has just announced their next collaboration with long-time anime series Dragon Ball Z. Bape is a streetwear line that originated in Japan created by fashion genius Nigo, who has also created Human Made since Bape. Nigo has already done one collaboration with Dragon Ball Z and the items were highly sought after. Therefore, this drop is one that many people are excited for. Personally this collaboration might be my favorite design/collaboration of all time. Dragon Ball Z is one of my favorite shoes, paired with the designs from Bape make this collaboration special. Today was the drop of one of, if not the most hyped streetwear clothing piece this year and most years, the Supreme Box Logo Hoodie. This year Supreme waited almost to the end of the season to drop their most sought after item. The Supreme Box Logo Hoodie and Box Logo T-Shirt are two of the most iconic designs in streetwear right now. The classic Supreme Box Logo that made them famous was the classic red one that is their company logo now. Now every time Supreme comes out with a new box logo design the streetwear community absolutely freaks out. Though personally this years box logo designs are really not my favorite, mostly due to the colors. Kith is just about ready to release their first delivery out of the Moncler collaboration this Friday. This was one of the most valued collections that was seen in Ronnie Fiegs Kith Fashion Show that premiered at the beginning of September. In this delivery there will be gloves, pants, pull-over, jackets, vest, backpack, quilted hoodie, face-mask, beanie, and boots. Now that does seem like a lot up there are only very few of each type of clothing piece. Due to the fact that this is a collaboration with Moncler the pieces are extremely expensive. For example, the jackets are all over $1,100. Though they are nice jackets, personally I don't know if I would buy this jacket for that much money. I would rather buy a Canadian Goose Jacket for almost the same price and be extremely warm. Except there are some nice pieces in this first delivery. The second part that designer Ronnie Fieg has created off his clothing brand is ice cream. The ice cream shop is called Kith Treats and are inside two or three of the Kith stores around the United States. You can order ice creams that have cereals inside of them because one collaboration that Kith has done has been with Captain Crunch. Though Captain Crunch is not the only cereal that the ice cream is mixed with. Though recently Ronnie Fieg has now been making clothing pieces for the Kith Treats part of his store and they have been flying off the shelfs. Kith 3D Capsule T-Shirts The most recent was the Kith 3D Capsule that came out in the last few weeks. This is one of my favorite designs out of any streetwear brand this entire year. The design is 3D block letters that are multicolored that are some what off centered spelling out: Kith Treats.
